Two Year Anniversary

Congratulations to us for patiently (i use that word loosely) waiting 2 whole years for our little sweetie from China. It has been a difficult wait but we are hanging in there. It feels a little like the world's longest pregnancy. We celebrate some good China news today. It seems that the CCAA (China Center for Adoption Affairs) is working on another set of matches which are due in the US this week. This is the closest match time there has ever been. It was just 2.5 weeks ago that the CCAA set matches. So yeah!! Maybe things are speeding up just a little. The other bit of good news is that the founders of our adoption agency met with the directors of the adoption program in the Hunan Province of China. They reported that the program there is improving and children are going to receive better care as a result. They did say that this would not necessarily improve our wait time but I don't see how it couldn't. I just think that they don't want to get our hopes up. But I am allowing mine to move up just a notch.

In other news, sort of, last night we had a great time with our friends, Mike and Bethany. Their niece was spending the night with them and their children. She was adopted from China so we had a little glimpse of what our life might be like in a few years. The other couple that was there was the same couple that purchased our first home. They have had the same struggle as we have in trying to start a family so it was really nice to talk to someone who has walked a mile in our shoes.
