There is a nest...
This morning I noticed that there is a bird's nest in a tree just outside the lobby of the hotel in Hong Kong. A few days ago Dave and I were talking about how a bird builds their nest one brown twing or one slim piece of string at a time in anticipation of laying a few eggs. Then she cares for those eggs and guards them from the elements. She does all of this without knowning when they will hatch. She instictivly waits until the day arrives when she will see the first tiny beak break through into the light of day. In a similar way we have been building our lives in anticipation of the day, not know when or even if it will come, that we will transition from couple to family. Well, the day has come and that day is tomorrow, July 10th. Two chicks will be hatched into our arms.
So, enough of my metephor. We are tucked into our hotel room after spending the day touring around Hong Kong, getting to know our fellow adoptive families while enjoying a lunch of Dim Sum. We have shared bits and pieces of our lives but primarily talked centered around the babies. Names, ages, orphanage or foster care and the story of our journies were among the topics. For three of the families traveling with us it is not their first adoption. The rest of us a green. Some families have biological children, others like us, have none. We all share one thing in common, a connection to China and a sense of calling or direction to adopt from this vast and ancient country.
Dave and I are both feeling at peace with little or no anxiety about tomorrow. Right now we are just hoping for a good night's sleep so we can be prepared for parenthood tomorrow. Tomorrow! I just can't believe it! Someone pinch me!

his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart."

Just looked on my iPhone to see what time it is in Hong Kong and it's 11:15AM, Sunday the 10th!! Right at this very moment, you may have your girls with you and I am rejoicing with you in Florida!! Woohoo!!! Patiently waiting to see them in both of your arms!
Hugs!

God's blessings on all of you!

You left a message for me on my blog about a month ago, & I wanted to say thanks for the info on the twins. We have not formally changed out letter to China, although we have the i-71H approval for two. We will decide this week if we will update our letter. Anyways, it looks like you are now in China getting your daughters finally! I am so happy for you & your husband & I can't wait to see more photos & read more about your trip. Best of luck & enjoy every minute.
