Adoption Update

We have never been this close. It is so hard to imagine that we could be parents within just a few weeks! Not years. Not months. Weeks! The birth mother is due on August 25th, which is my Dad's birthday. Because she has gestational diabetes most likely she will go early. Hopefully, we will know more this Wednesday at her doctor's appointment.

In other adoption news, China adoptions are starting to speed up a little. CCAA (China Center for Adoption Affairs) just matched 14 days of LIDS (Log in dates) this month. For about the previous two years they have only been matching about 3 or 4 LID dates each month, so this is a big deal. CCAA matched couples logged in through May 10, 2006. Our LID is June 28, 2006. So, what this means for us is that we should be getting matched with our baby sometime early 2011.

Yikes! Never did we expect to be getting two babies so close together. This most certainly was not the plan but it seems that God had a different plan.

So here is what we are praying for:
  • Wisdom in parenting
  • Blessings on our birthmother
  • Health for our babies

I'm so excited for you! I totally know what you mean though. Went from years, to never, to more years, to months, to weeks. Its real. Its really real this time!! (Totally understanding that feeling! All though months to go!)

Its surreal. But i'm praising God for your little blessing that is coming! what a miralce. and it would be just like God to bless you in abundance and so close together! LOL I'm sure you are like me though, you'll take it!!!

Know you are in my prayers daily and can't wait for this little one to arrivE! HUGS! And again we are WAY overdue for dinner!

I really thought I would have time to blog everyday on this "once in a life time trip" but in reality, yesterday I did not even have time to brush my hair and I have yet to wash it since getting the twins on Sunday. So as I sit here on Tuesday evening I want to remember and record all that has transpired since the girls were first placed in our arms but I am sitting in a dark hotel since Abbi and Livi are asleep in their cribs just 10 feet away.  The near darkness make me want to crawl under the covers and fade into dream land. So, the remedy is going to be a bulleted list which I will try to expand on later. "Try" is the operative word here. Gotcha Day was traumatic for the girls but they soon calmed down and just eyed us with suspicion for the evening. Prior to getting the girls there was a two hour meeting to discuss feeding and caring for the babies and the itinerary. Monday was paperwork day.
